Romain is a lawyer specialized in restructuring and bankruptcy law. He represents companies in the context of amicable or judicial bankruptcy procedures. From the formalization of a conciliation agreement, the elaboration of a safeguard or bankruptcy continuation plan to other missions linked to each bankruptcy procedure (liabilities verification, assets reconstitution, ongoing contracts, etc.), the support is global and meets all the needs of a company in difficulty. He also ensures the representation of creditors in the context of a debtor's bankruptcy procedure: declarations and challenging of claims, appointment as a supervising creditor, claims, litigation linked to all the bankruptcy procedures from the Chapter VI of the French Commercial code, etc.

In addition, Romain also represents candidates in destressed M&A through the acquisition of assets and/or activities of debtors in stress or distress situation. Romain is also specialized in specific litigation inherent to bankruptcy proceedings and uncluding the representation of “administrateurs et mandataires judiciaires” (both in amicable or judicial bankruptcy procedures).

He is a lawyer since 2014 and has practiced with leading law firms specialized in bankruptcy law, from specialized “law boutiques” (Lantourne & Associés) to renowned international law firms (Paul Hastings LLP) before joining Squair to create a department dedicated to this practice.

Romain is a lecturer in bankruptcy law at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and has also taught this subject at the University of Paris-Panthéon-Assas. He holds a Master's degree in bankruptcy law and a ALED Master's degree, both completed under the supervision of Professor Pierre-Michel Le Corre. He was also trained at the University of Aix-Marseille where he obtained a Master's degree in Business Law and Corporate Taxation as well as a Magistère in Business Law, Accounting and Corporate Taxation.
