Eric Seassaud

About

Eric Seassaud is a lawyer at the Paris Bar. He is an expert in ethics & compliance, international arbitration; international contracts; major industrial and construction projects (project finance, construction contracts, operation and maintenance agreements, joint ventures, consortia, shareholders agreement, security package & guaranties, export finance …) and contracts and claims management.

Prior to joining Squair, he was the General Counsel and Chief Contracts Officer of VINCI Construction Grands Projets and the Ethics Liaison Officer of the entities of the Major Projects Division of VINCI Construction (2018-2021); the Ethics & Compliance Group General Counsel of ENGIE (2011-18); the Director of Contracts Management & Arbitration at SUEZ (formerly Degremont - 2009-2011); and the Deputy General Counsel in charge of major projects at SUEZ (formerly Degremont - 2003-2009).

Eric is also very much involved in various professional organisations: Vice-President of the “French Association of Contract Management” (“Association Française du Contract Management – AFCM”); Chairman of the AFNOR French Technical Committee “Compliance and Governance of Organisations – ISO TC 309” and Foreign Trade Advisor for France (“Conseiller du Commerce Extérieur de la France”). As well as in the academic world: co-founder and lecturer at the University of Paris II – Assas, for the postgraduate university diploma “Contract Management”; co-founder and lecturer at the University of Paris I – La Sorbonne, for the postgraduate university diploma “Compliance and Business Ethics” (DU “Compliance et éthique des affaires”); lecturer the University of Paris I – La Sorbonne in the postgraduate master “International Criminal and Business Law” (Master II “Droit pénal international et des affaires”); and Lecturer at the University of Paris-Dauphine for the Certificate “Compliance, Anticorruption, Duty of Care and Data Privacy” (“Certificat Compliance anti-corruption, vigilance & protection des données personnelles”).

Eric holds a Ph.D. in Law, a post graduate master in International Business Law & Management from the Paris School of Management (Mastère en droit et management des affaires internationals de l’Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris – ESCP), a postgraduate diploma in Public Business Law (DEA “Droit public des activités économiques”) and an undergraduate diploma in Political Sciences (“Diplôme de l’Institut d’Etudes Politiques d’Aix-en-Provence”).
